Booster Club Minutes
October 8, 2013
Meeting was called to order at 6:05pm with 8 members in attendance.
- Treasurers Report: Mary LaMaster reported a balance of $446.96 in the school account for Booster Club and $530.87 in the Nodaway Valley account. NVB balance does not include fruit and granola bars purchased for band trip to Clarinda of $41. School account does include $33.72 for hot dogs bought by Junior Stand that was left over from Meet the Horns Night.
- Secretary Report: Ragena Hilsabeck read minutes from August meeting to get new members in attendance up to date.
- Old Business:
- Homecoming
- Potato Bar - Went very well but need to start potatoes earlier and cut back as had plenty of left overs - Served approximately 150
- Donations $392.10 - Expenses $124.56
- List for next time:
- 6 bags potatoes
- 1 lg (24oz) carton sour cream
- 2 bags bacon bits
- 1 bag cheddar cheese
- Need heavier plates & salt
- Positive comments from Air Rock routine. People were glad to see us participate.
- Received $30 gift card from Hy-Vee used to purchase candy to throw out at the parade
- Poms, discs, face tattoos: expense $95.50 – income approximately $25.50 (will continue selling through basketball season)
- Sports Pass Raffle brought in $75. It was donated by the school so there was no expense
- Carrie Freemyer checked into T-shirts with Competition Graphics but did not hear back from Collette. Tabitha Holtman looked into other T-shirts that include infant sizes from another source. It was decided we would go with these T-shirts. She will put together a flyer for pre-orders that can be sent home with the elementary students and with report cards at PTC. Deadline will be November 1, 2013
- Decided not to do seat cushions with Spirit Store due to large order quantity and not enough funds to cover
- Angela Guss picked up fruit and granola bars for band trip to Clarinda on October 5, 2013. Steve Holdenried donated the water
- Will make Thank You notes to send to Hy-Vee and Steve Holdenried
- Homecoming
- New Business:
- Passed around a sign-up sheet to sit at table to sell additional spirit items and T-shirts at JH basketball during first half of girls games only
- Angela Guss will get with Mr. Emerson to set a date for the Sports Banquet
- Discussed doing a silent auction for 2 reserve cushioned seats, including 2 drinks and 2 popcorns, for 2 HS basketball games on January 24th game against Jefferson and the February 7th Courtwarming game. Auction bids must be turned in by 3pm the Friday of each game. Tabitha Holtman will be the contact person by email or phone at the school. Pam Jones will work with Tabitha and make flyers and posters for the events.
- Trivia Night set for Saturday, January 25, 2014. Angela will chair. To discuss further at next meeting
- Discussion of possible 5/6 grade tournament in March or April, but Angela Guss to contact Senior class sponsor to be sure they are not going to do this year and also the PTO since they do 3 / 4 grade tournament during that same time to be sure they are ok with it
Next meeting will be Monday, November 11th at 6pm in the library.
