The South Nodaway R-IV School District has a position opening for Head of Maintenance.
The qualified applicant will have the knowledge and skills necessary for maintenance of a K-12 School building with approximately 50,000 square feet of floor space and the related grounds. Skills required include general maintenance ability related to the repair and upkeep of the buildings and grounds. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a significant background in any or all of the following skills; electrical, plumbing, carpentry, floor care, roof maintenance, HVAC, and mechanical. The successful applicant should be organized, reliable, and demonstrate strong communication skills. The successful applicant must also be able to pass all public school employee pre-qualification requirements including a criminal background check.
The district is considering a full-time, twelve-month position with benefits including retirement (PEERS), vacation, and health insurance or a part-time position with flexible scheduling, vacation and sick leave. Salary is competitive and will be commensurate with the experience of the successful applicant.

Our 7-12th grade students had the opportunity to listen to several speakers come and share about their careers. Thank you to the professionals that were willing to take time from their work days to come spend time with our students! And to everyone else that helped make our 2024 Career Day happen!








The Sophomores were recently able to go on a campus tour of Northwest Missouri State University. Our Freshman class also enjoyed recently seeing the campus of Missouri Western State University.

Seniors participated in mock job interviews with special guests as part of their Personal Finance class. We appreciate our experts from Kawasaki, Mosaic, St. Joseph Youth Alliance and for helping provide this valuable experience for our students.


8th Grade has started Shielded Metal Arc Welding (stick welding) in JH Ag. Today was day 2 and they are learning that striking the arc is harder than it looks!




Seventh Graders gave Informative Presentations on a variety of topics including basketball shoes and secondhand smoke in JH Computers.






The Winter Concert is next Monday, December 16th starting at 7pm. 5th,6th, and 7-12 bands will be playing in the concert. They need to dress up and be here by 6:45pm. Thank you!

The district will have two board openings (three year terms). Qualified applicants need to file the necessary forms with the Board Secretary at the Barnard school building during the following times: December 10, 2024 through December 20, 2024 from 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.; December 31, 2024 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The office will not be open on weekends and would be closed should school be cancelled for inclement weather.
